¿What is the Film Commission?

After the establishment ACALPA (Castellano Leonesa Association of Audiovisual Producers), our first project was the launch of a Film Commission, ie an office or agency capable of providing audiovisual producers with the necessary information, logistics, arts, professional etc.. for filming.

The film commissions exist all over the world, especially in places where the film and audiovisual industry is mature, and are a powerful means of promoting tourism and economic development.

To avoid losing the train of audiovisual-train is a "high speed" - believe that our Film Commission should be an innovative tool, based on new technologies, capable of a quick introduction, and an almost immediate renewal and update Content permanent.

Unlike other service agencies or film commissions that have physical units, similar to a tourist office, the Film Commission of Castile and Leon was born as a virtual tool developed specifically for Internet.

For implantation, ACALPA claimed the SME Enterprise Development Initiative, and in particular to promote its line of business information services.

Initiative (Small and Medium Enterprises) is part of the European program FEDER and in our community is managed jointly by the EDA (Economic Development Agency) and DDI (Ministry of Economy and Finance). Within the European program, the introduction of this innovative tool has enjoyed a subsidy of twenty-five million pesetas, generating direct and indirect employment across the sector.

For the implementation of the Virtual Film Commission, ACALPA companies entrusted the project to the Community, with extensive experience in video, television, advertising, multimedia and Internet.
